1. Purpose & application

This document applies to every approved family day home operating under a licensed agency in Alberta. It sets out the obligations of the agency and the standards each home must meet to remain in good standing.

2. Care environment & child records

Each approved family day home must maintain a safe, clean, and well-supervised environment for every child in care. The educator is responsible for ensuring that emergency contact information, allergy and medication authorizations, and a signed parent agreement are on file before a child begins attending.

3. Ongoing compliance

Homes are subject to unannounced monitoring visits and periodic safety inspections. Records must be kept current and made available to the agency consultant on request.
